FCT Police Reunite Missing Child With Grandmother
ABUJA, Sept. 5, 2026.
The FCT Police Command has successfully reunited six-year-old Haneem Hussaini Bello with his grandmother after the child was found wandering around NNPC Towers in the Central Business District, Abuja, on Sept. 4, following a public appeal for assistance in locating his family.
The child’s safe reunification was achieved on Sept. 5 after his grandmother, who had been with Haneem before he became separated from his family, was identified and contacted through information provided following the Police Command’s appeal.
The Command said due verification was conducted before Haneem was safely handed over to his grandmother, bringing an end to efforts to locate his family.
The FCT Police Command expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation, timely information and support, stressing that the successful reunion demonstrates the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community in protecting children and vulnerable persons.
The Command further encouraged members of the public to continue providing timely and useful information to the Police whenever they encounter missing, abandoned or vulnerable persons.
