Saddening remarks by the National Publicity Secretary of the National Democratic Coalition, NDC, Mr. Theo Abu Agada, have triggered controversy within the party after he declared that his loyalty lies solely with the National Leader, Senator Dickson, and not with the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Mr. Agada made the comment on Monday afternoon during a public discourse on ADC Space, a popular audio platform for political discussions.

The statement came as he reflected on the challenges of his office as National Publicity Secretary. According to him, his allegiance is “solely to Senator Dickson and to no one else.”

The remark has raised fresh concerns about internal cohesion in the NDC, especially with Mr. Obi leading the party as its presidential candidate ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers say the comment undermines the capacity of the party’s chief image-maker to effectively promote, defend, and unify support for Mr. Obi on national platforms.

“If the National Publicity Secretary’s loyalty is solely to Senator Dickson and to no one else, it raises serious questions about his ability to effectively promote and support Mr. Peter Obi as the party’s presidential candidate,” a party chieftain who requested anonymity told SIXT-MEDIALANE.

The development is expected to intensify debate within the NDC over leadership structure, party discipline, and the role of the National Publicity Secretary in projecting a united front for the presidential campaign.

As of press time, neither Mr. Peter Obi nor Senator Dickson had issued an official response to Mr. Agada’s comments.
