“Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria” Group Condemns Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Defection to APC

The “Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria” group has strongly condemned Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking on behalf of the group, Ejiro Moses, a member from Delta State, described Okowa’s decision as a betrayal of the party that has given him numerous opportunities throughout his political career.

“Governor Okowa’s defection is a clear demonstration of his lack of integrity, loyalty, and honor to the PDP, which has nurtured his political career from local government chairman to commissioner, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), senator, governor, and even vice presidential candidate in the 2023 election,” Moses stated.

Moses further attributed the PDP’s loss in the 2023 election to Okowa’s selection as vice presidential candidate, stating that he failed to deliver votes in the South-South states. “The PDP lost the 2023 election because of the wrong choice of Okowa as vice presidential candidate, who could not deliver votes in the South-South states,” he said.

The group also criticized Okowa’s excuse for defecting, describing it as indicative of a man of low character. “The excuse given by Okowa shows a man of low character, and it is unacceptable,” Moses added.

The “Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria” group calls on other PDP leaders and members to remain loyal to the party and work towards rebuilding it from within. We urge the PDP to take necessary steps to strengthen its structures and prevent further defections.
