DG NILDS Rejoices With Muslim Ummah As 2025 Ramadan Fasting Begins
… Urges Muslims To Use Fasting Period To Pray For Country, Its Leadership
The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has congratulated the Muslims for witnessing the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting which corresponds with 29 Sha’ban 1446 AH.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday 1st March, 2025 by his Media Adviser Mohammad Abdulkadri.
Professor Sulaiman thanked Almighty Allah for sparing the lives of the faithful to witness the holy month of Ramadan.
He prayed for God’s forgiveness for those who answered the last call and were unable to fulfill their wishes to be part of the fasting they had been looking forward to.
The Director General urged the Muslims to use the period to dedicate special prayers for the country and its leadership.
Furthermore, the former Minister of National Planning prayed for God’s mercy and forgiveness of sins as well as beseech Him for good health, strength and stamina for Muslims to observe the fasting as ordained in the holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W ).
While underscoring the significance of fasting as one the five articles of Faith in Islam and the speciality of the blessed month of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar, he urged the affluent to support the less privileged families to cushion the effects of hardship in this challenging period.
