DIG Bala Ciroma is the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Finance & Administration. He was born on 16th January 1966 and hails from Yobe state. He graduated from University of Maiduguri, where he obtained bachelor’s degree in Geography before he got enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1990. He also holds a Post graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from the Hong Kong University. He is a member Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE).

He has attended many courses in the course of his service in the Nigeria Police Force.
He started his early public service career in “B” Divisional Police Headquarters, Niger State. He was redeployed as both the Divisional Traffic Officer, Officer in-charge of Homicide Section, CIID Niger Command. He got redeployed to Force Criminal Investigation & Intelligence Department Ikoyi, where he served as an Investigator. He served in Ibadan, Oyo state as both the 2i/c Operations Department and Divisional Police Officer Iya Ganku Division all in Oyo state.
In 2004, he was posted to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) as Head of Operations, and in 2009 as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in CIID, before his deployment to Welfare Section as ACP. His duty took him to Kano State after ACP in CIID, before redeployment to IGP Monitoring Unit. In 2013, shortly as his promotion to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, he was redeployed to FCT Command as DCP Operations Department, and back to Force Headquarters as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Welfare, and later to DCP CIID in the same FCT Command. In 2018, he was promoted to Commissioner of Police and redeployed to Administration section of the Information Communication Technology Department. He got redeployed as the Commissioner of Police in-charge of the Department of Finance & Administration, Force headquarters, Abuja. His promotion to an Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police saw him becoming the AIG Zone 7, Abuja and AIG Department of Operations in Force Headquarters.
Prior to his promotion and deployment as DIG Department of Finance & Administration, Force Headquarters, Abuja, he briefly served as the DIG Training & Development, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
