The Emergence of CP Benneth Chinedum Igweh as the commissioner of police Federal Capital Territory has brought Relatively peace in Abuja, since his assumption in office .

The super cop is an experienced and well trained crime fighter who knows how to safeguard the lives of people , no wonder why he was appointed to become the commissioner of police at the time when Fct- Abuja was experiencing high rate of terror , kidnapping and all sorts of criminality plaguing the city and environs, since then the once known safe, peaceful and security in the Federal Capital has returned.

Upon assuming office, CP Ben Igweh swung into action immediately in ensuring that both the vulnerable and the entire inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory and even those who thrung into the city on daily basis to transact businesses are safe, protected  and secured.

He is a man with a good  track record of fighting crime.

CP Benneth Igweh, assumed duty with a warning for criminals to leave the territory, just as he vowed to ensure safety of all residents.

He took over from AIG Haruna G. Garba, following the latter’s promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, is a thorough bread and highly operational police officer whose experience is already coming in handy in the fight against crime in FCT.

While recalling on In his earlier word to Journalists when he assumed office newly,  CP Benneth Igweh said: “My message to kidnappers and armed robbers is that their time is up. In our laws, there is nothing like ‘one chance’. One chance is simply armed robbery and they will be treated as armed robbers.

“Another option for them is to run away. I am not new to FCT. I know the terrain in FCT, which is an added advantage for me.”

CP Igwe, while soliciting the support of officers and men of the command, appreciated President Bola Tinubu, and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for finding him worthy.

He also thanked the FCT Minister Barr, Nyesom Wike, for his support.

I can recall vividly just few minutes after taking over, the Police Boss mobilised dozens of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and patrol vehicles filled with combat ready policemen to Bwari Area Council, the kidnapping hotbed of FCT on a show of force parade and ever since then, the entire area and atmosphere is now experiencing relatively peaceful  as a result of the earlier orders and expertise , most the wanted notorious  kidnapping kingpins and their leaders are now being apprehended and prosecuted on daily, as they say, no peace and hidden place for the wicked.

CP Igweh was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1996, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and was trained at the prestigious Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.

The CP has served in the Nigeria Police Force in several Operational, Administrative, and Intelligence capacity. Before his redeployment as the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh mni was the commander Special Intervention Squad (SIS) FHQ, Abuja.

CP Ben Igwe always urge the good people of the Territory to continue working with the Police in areas of intelligence gathering so as to ensure an extremum policing and secured free environment .
