……… AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh:The Quintessential Officer, A Beacon of Humility, Humanity, Rules Of Law and Service

AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh: The Quintessential Officer, A Beacon of Law, Humility and Hope.

In the heart of *Onikan, Lagos*, where the pulse of Nigeria’s security architecture beats, stands a leader whose name has become synonymous with discipline, compassion, and unwavering commitment to justice, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, the revered head of *Zone 2 Command*.

AIG Jimoh is not just a senior officer. He is a quintessential gentleman in uniform,  a rare blend of authority and humility, of strength and simplicity, of command and compassion.

A Legacy Carved in Integrity*
Born on the 10th August, 1971 in Ilorin, Kwara State.

AIG Jimoh was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on the 1st of May, 2000, after graduating with a B.Sc. in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and trained at the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.

Across 25 years of distinguished service, he has risen through the ranks with excellence,  from ASP in Katsina and Cross River to FCT PPRO, *Force PRO, DCP CID Airport, CP Lagos State, and now AIG Zone 2, overseeing Lagos and Ogun States. His last promotion to AIG came on 5th March, 2026.

He is celebrated for his deep respect for the rule of law, his profound understanding of *human rights and his relentless drive to professionalize policing through intelligence-led operations, surveillance, and rapid-response interventions

“An officer who leads from the front, yet walks among the people,” a traditional ruler in Lagos said. “He listens, he corrects, and he protects.”

*Honours That Speak Louder Than Words*
AIG Jimoh’s service has not gone unnoticed.

Just months ago , the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) honoured him with the

*”Crime Fighter of the Year”* Award during its Annual Press Week in Abuja, graced by NUJ President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya Abdul and former President Chief Chris Isiguzo The award recognized his intelligence-led policing strategy and contributions to crime reduction in Lagos and Ogun.

This came shortly after he was named *2025 Security Officer of the Year” at the Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA).

His cabinet of honours also includes:

*Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year* – NIPR, 2017

He is a *”Fellow of the Institute of Fraud Examiners, Institute of Management Consultants, and Institute of Corporate Administration and holds international trainings in China, Korea, and the US on counter-terrorism, maritime security, and smart policing.

*When Leadership is Tested, Character Shines*
In recent times, the digital space has been awash with unverified claims seeking to drag the hard-earned reputation of this illustrious officer into the mud. Allegations have been made without *court judgement, without investigation, without evidence*.

But those who know AIG Jimoh know better.

The Nigeria Police Force is a vast institution. No commander, however diligent, can personally monitor every single officer in every division at every second. What defines a great leader is not the misconduct of a few “bad eggs,” but how swiftly and decisively he acts when such conduct is brought to light.

And AIG Jimoh has consistently shown that he does not shield wrongdoing. He insists on due process. He insists on accountability.

*A Commander of the People*
Under his watch, Zone 2 Command has deepened community policing, engaged stakeholders, and reminded officers that the badge is a call to service, not a license for abuse.

He has opened his doors to complaints. He has urged citizens to bring grievances forward through proper channels, the Command, the PSC, the CRU, so that justice can be served the right way.

That is leadership. That is courage. That is love for the people.

Let Us Protect What Is Good.
To attempt to destroy the image of a man who has spent 25 years building public trust is to wound the very institution meant to protect us.

AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh deserves our support, not suspicion. Our sympathy, not slander. Our commendation, not condemnation.

Today, Zone 2 stands firm under a leader who believes that policing must be humane, lawful, and people-centered.
