An Iranian army communications officer, Amirmohammad Salemi, was reportedly killed in a US airstrike on Shalamcheh, in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province, overnight.
According to Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Salemi served at an army communications site that was targeted during the strike.
The report was also carried by Iran International, which cited Tasnim as its source.
The incident comes amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran, with both sides exchanging strikes in recent days.
