Again: Terrorists Kidnaps 73 As They Launch Fresh Attack On Zamfara Villages – SIXT-MEDIA LANE

At least 73 people have reportedly been abducted following a midnight attack on Buzugu and Rayau villages in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, SIXT-MEDIA LANE reports.
According to counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on October 18, when heavily armed bandits invaded the two villages, shooting sporadically before whisking away dozens of residents to an unknown destination.
Sources disclosed that security forces have launched efforts to rescue the abducted victims and restore calm in the affected areas, with joint operations currently underway in collaboration with local vigilante groups.
Zamfara State has been one of the hardest-hit regions by banditry in recent months, with several communities experiencing repeated attacks.
Earlier this month, about 30 residents were kidnapped when gunmen stormed Zamfarawa village in the Zugu district of the same Bukkuyum LGA.
Less than two weeks before that, suspected gunmen abducted two councillors and a local imam in Tsauni community, Gusau LGA. The victims — representing Gidan Gona and Tsibiri wards in Maradun LGA — were taken from their homes shortly after evening prayers.
In September, armed assailants also killed at least five worshippers during prayers at a mosque in Yandoto, Tsafe LGA, and abducted several others.
Security operatives continue to face mounting pressure to contain the wave of abductions and restore peace in Zamfara and other parts of Nigeria’s North-West region
