BBO Condemns Killings in Okigwe LGA, Calls for Stronger Community–Security Collaboration
Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 joins the government and all well-meaning people of Imo State in condemning, in the strongest possible terms, the recent killings in Ajana Umuna and Ezinachi communities of Okigwe Local Government Area. The brutal attack, which claimed the lives of five persons, including members of a local vigilante group and their family relatives, is a senseless and barbaric act that has left our people in grief.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Okigwe community. Such incidents are a painful reminder of the urgent need for vigilance, unity, and stronger cooperation in safeguarding our communities.
BBO calls on all communities across Imo State to work closely with the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by providing timely, credible, and actionable intelligence information. Security cannot be left in the hands of government forces alone; it requires a collective responsibility where communities actively participate in their own protection.
Furthermore, while we acknowledge the immense sacrifices and dedication of our security agencies who work tirelessly—often preventing hundreds of incidents that the public never gets to hear about—we strongly urge them to do even more in preempting and disrupting attacks at the conception and planning phases, before they are carried out. The capacity to anticipate, neutralize, and deter threats must remain a top priority in safeguarding lives and property across Imo State.
BBO assures the people of Imo State, particularly Okigwe Zone, of our unwavering solidarity in these trying times. We must not allow agents of violence and criminality to destroy the peace, stability, and communal trust that bind us as one people.
Together, through vigilance, intelligence sharing, and collaboration, we can defeat insecurity and protect our beloved state.

Maj. Nduduisi M. Eze (US Special Operations Forces, SOF Retired)
