Some persons may ask, who is professor Mohammed Ahmed Sanusi, an astute and disciplined police officer, hails from Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi state. He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate at St. Mary’s LSMB School, Lokoja in 1982. He had his post-primary education at the prestigious Crowther Memorial College (CMC), Lokoja. He proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, for further studies after sailing through the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with flying colours, from where he obtained Bachelor of Science in Economics.
His quest for knowledge endeared him to enrol for a diploma in Computer Application at Federal Polytechnic Idah in 2005. Now satisfied with this, the enigmatic Mohammed Sanusi Ahmed proceeded to National Open Universities of Nigeria for his Master’s degree in Business Administration. Later on, he earned his PhD in Management at Kogi State University, Anyigba with a sterling performance.
Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi who is a Professor of Criminal Justice at European-American University was recently honoured by a Special Achievement Award by the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
Prof. Sanusi serves as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Nigeria Police Force. The award was presented by the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force.
Ahmed’s career in the police started when he was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Academy, after which he served as Unit Commander Mopol 37 Lokoja, and there after, Acting Commanding Officer Mopol 37 Lokoja. Ahmed career’s progression got a boost when he was appointed as ADC to a former Governor of Kogi State. It was this position that he was posted to Sokoto as Unit Commander Mopol 7 Sokoto. Energetic Muhammed Sanusi was later transferred to Ekiti state where he was DCO Aramoko Ekiti Police Command. Thereafter, he was Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Ijero Ekiti State Police Command. He was also redeployed to Operations Zone 8 Police Command and Inland Waterways Police Command. Shortly, followed by his diligence and resilience, Ahmed was made Officer in Charge FSARS Ikeja, Lagos. He was AC IGP, Tactical Squad Abuja, AC – Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos and AC – Police Special Fraud Unit Abuja.
His exploits in these offices have carved a niche for him as an exemplary, spectacular and brilliant officer in crime busting. His ardent loyalty and uncompromising behaviour in his duty has earned him plethora of commendations and his successes in the arrests of notorious armed robbers were highly appreciated.
Ahmed, who is a Fellow of Corporate Institute of Administration and Fellow, Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators (FIPMA), was once the AC, Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad, Abuja. And now the DCP, IGP-IRT He has in his efforts done the Nigerian Police Force proud by his distinguishing attributes and exemplary behavior and leadership style in various assigned field of endeavour which has impacted the image of the police and the society in general.
