When you hear policing with difference, the first thing that will come to your mind is the likes of CSP Abdulsalam Alhassan MAJIA, the current Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Nyanya, one of the suburbs in the Federal Capital Territory Of Abuja.

Nyanya is known for its notoriety in times of violence and heinous crimes of all sorts such as armed robbery, stealing, kidnapping, Cultism, countless and pockets of violence which always emanates from Okada ridders who are always known for their swiftness in stab their victims with dagger etc.

Inshort, before his emergence as the Divisional Police Officer incharge of Nyanya Area, the location used to be a “No go area” and inhabitable for the residence of the place and visitors who always throngs in that environment due to the commercial nature of the suburb.

The high rate of crime in Nyanya Area of Abuja became a cause for concern and worry by the residence of the suburb and the FCT Police Command of the Nigerian Police Force, not until the indefatigable crime fighter and humility personified and refined CSP Abdulsalam Alhassan Majia was appointed and posted as the Divisional Police Officer of the Area by the the AIG Bala Cirom, the immediate Past Commissioner Of Police Federal Capital Territory, now an Assistant Inspector General Of Police (AIG) Operation .

But due to his indefatigability and doggedness in fighting crime, the current Commissioner Of Police incharge of the Federal Capital Territory, CP Babaji Sunday decided to retain him so as to sustain the tempo, and every known crimes in the area was reduced to the barest minimum and the area became habitable and safe again , normalcy is restored and people are now going about their normal business without fear. CSP Abdulsalam Alhassan Majia is in no doubt one amongst many notable police officers who are indeed propagating the good image of the Nigerian Police by their humane and civilized conducts and approach in discharging their duties with enormous posetive results in policing profession are to watchout .

When we tried to inquire on the methodologies he applied in bringing peace, sanity and stability to the place, the eloquent simple and gentle CSP Abdulsalam Alhassan Majia, smiled and said, ” As a professional police officer, I was trained to ensure peace , harmony and crime free in our environment while employing the tactics expertise and training I have gathered and garnered over the year to explore while dealing with issues of crime, violence and ensuring peace of which I can only reveal to you the very ones I feel like revealing because you know we don’t disclose all our modus operandi to the general public so as to enable us to achieve more oriented results for the nation and for people living in this axis .

While interacting, he told us that security is not a one man business and on assuming the position of the DPO of the Area, he brought all the various groups and associations in the area together together such as the landlord, the vigilante, the church , the mosque and even the Okada Union and traders together and maintained a constant meeting and interactions with them till date in the bid of ensuring a safe environment plus other undisclosed security tactics they explore for an oriented results.

Indeed CSP Abdulsalam Alhassan Majia a man to watchout for higher responsibilities in our Nation Nigeria for effective policing and service to our father’s land Nigeria .
